No longer the naive 16year old, on land Maren grows to a 26 year old woman who is fed up with all the BS. After 10 years Maren sees the opportunity to escape when she is taken hostage by Captain Ramsay and his crew. Ramsay and his crew are vicious pirates who take prisoners and kill everyone else. The chemistry between Maren and Ramsay is undeniable and I love the possessiveness and touch her and die vibes Ramsey gives off. Both Ramsay and Maren are morally gray and Ramsay not only sees the darkness in Maren but he encourages her to be her true self…even if he isn’t quite sure what she is yet.
