3 Sentence Summary:

Erik the scarred king of the Ever Kingdom has waited years for vengeance against the man who killed his father and trapped him below the seas. When his enemy's daughter unknowingly frees him from the Ever he steals her away to use in his game of revenge.

Erik is determined to take back what was lost but what he didn't count on was that she might just steal his heart first.

Why I recommend it:

*As a quick note this series is a standalone but is set in the same world as the Broken Kingdom series by LJ Andrews. You don't have to read the Broken Kingdom series first, but the Ever Seas series focuses on the children of the characters from the Broken Kingdom series. *

So many people have heard about or read this series so of course I had to read it. When I saw that it is about fae viking pirates I was intrigued. At the beginning I wasn't sure if it was going to draw me in or not but by the halfway mark, I was completely hooked and couldn't put it down.

When Erik kidnaps Livia for revenge he's not expecting to lose his heart to her. Erik is the perfect morally grey MMC who doesn't hide or apologize for his brutality, and I loved him for it. Livia on the other hand, wants the world to be a better place and despite being kidnapped wants to make the best of the situation. The banter between them is brilliant and the way each of them develops throughout the story is beautifully written.

There are incredible side characters, political intrigue, twists and turns and it ends on a dreaded cliffhanger. Luckily book 2 “The Ever Queen” is already out so you don’t have to wait to finish the story of Erik and Livia.
